Safe Air, Safe Scuba

Breathing clean, safe air is one of the most important parts of scuba diving because the air in your tank is the only thing keeping you breathing underwater.

Why safe air matters when scuba diving

  • Protects your health: Contaminated breathing gas can contain carbon monoxide, oil, moisture, or other harmful substances that can make you sick or even cause loss of consciousness underwater.

  • Prevents dangerous symptoms: Contaminants can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, confusion, or impaired judgment—symptoms that are especially dangerous when you’re submerged.

  • Reduces the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning: CO is particularly dangerous because it is colorless and odorless and can be present without any obvious warning.

  • Protects your equipment: Properly filtered and maintained breathing gas helps prevent moisture, oil, and contaminants from damaging regulators and cylinders.

  • Gives you confidence underwater: Knowing your tank has been filled with properly tested, quality breathing gas allows you to focus on your dive rather than worrying about what you're breathing.

Bottom line: You wouldn’t put questionable fuel in your car—don’t put questionable air in your scuba tank. Always use a reputable fill station that follows appropriate breathing-air testing and compressor-maintenance practices.
